SuniSea Portable Tabletop & Stationery Box
When pursuing graduate studies at the University of Georgia (2007-2009), I built a portable inclined table top to add comfort to my eyes when reading textbooks. The back space of the table top is a box for storing some stationery items such as pencils, pens, rulers, index cards, and others. To fabricate this multi-functional custom product, I purchased and cut wood materials at Lowe’s (Home Depot supplies the same materials). I assembled the product with screws and applied 3 coats of clear vanishing oil. Later, I decided to design the SuniSea Portable Tabletop and Stationery Box, a wheeled one for mass production using plastic, rubber and stainless steel components, in SolidWorks, in 2011, as shown in the screen shots from a PowerPoint classroom presentation file intended to demonstrate the idea of multiple functionality for material and space saving, ecologically-friendly product design.
