Comfortable Ergonomic Hair Dryer
The design ideation sketches and renderings for the SuniSea Comfort Hair Dryer displayed in this page have been completed with traditional illustration tools and supplies such as fountain pens, markers, ball point pens, color pencils, and pastels. The engineering drawings have been completed manually with traditional tools and equipment such as drafting table, pencils, eraser, eraser shield, compass, ruler, triangles, T-square, French curves, circle and ellipse templates, and others. This is my second product design project completed during my undergraduate program in Industrial Design at California State University Northridge (Spring 1990). Although this is a re-design project for the external form and shape of existing products, the new design could improve the function of the products as well. The external casings of the SuniSea Comfort Hair Dryer have been built with acrylic plastic material using the lab facility’s power tools such as drum, belt and disc sanders, bend and table saws, and others, and internal parts of an existing hair dryer found in the market place have been incorporated to create the working prototype.
